Scuba diving! … What David and I did in the two days preceding our accident. Much, much, MUCH more fun… The photos were taken with a Canon Ixus in a housing, and just the “automatic levels” fixed in Aperture. They’re not professional photos by a loooooong shot, but at least you get an idea of what there is to see under the sea in southern C.

The video quality is iffy at best, so I’ll put up a new gallery with the actual photos on the “Gallery” page.

These were taken with a camera I rented from the dive center, so I didn’t have it with me during the accident. I DID have my GOOD camera, however, and as it’s still in Phnom Penh with Val, I don’t know if it’s ok – but she says she checked it and it seems fine. Cross our fingers…

Oh, those were the days. The flora and fauna remind me of the Caribbean. I’m so envious – I’d give my eye teeth to dive once more and by the holy, I will at some point. Looks like you had a great dive. xoxo J

Yes, and you’d love diving here, everything is easy. 12 meters max, water is 30°C, we stay under for an hour… no currents, the dive boat comes to wherever we are to pick us up, and we get all the help with our equipment that we want. PERFECT diving for the lazy and for those whose exploits on Brothers Islands has tempered their enthusiasm for scary dive situations…

Fantastic!! Snorkling gets you some of that? I’d love to take the kids to an octopus’ garden under the sea! I really enjoyed your video.
